Hello Parents,
I'm Jeff Price, Director of Security for Forest Park High School. I hope you had a great summer and are ready for the kids to get back to school. I wanted to share some information regarding traffic this upcoming school year. As many of you already know, traffic coming into the school each morning has gotten worse and to be honest, has tripled over the last few years. We have done pretty well in traffic control, but we need everyone's help to keep it flowing smoothly so all parents can get in and get out quickly. First and foremost, please pay attention to security personnel for their direction and at all crosswalks. When dropping of your student, please pull up as far as you can (past door #4) so we can accommodate more cars. Many parents started driving through the overflow lot, then came across blocking the intersection. This year, when cutting through the overflow lot, only a right or left hand turn will be permitted, no going straight. With this plan, all vehicles will have a straight shot to the school, drop off points, and straight shot to depart and leave school property. The reason for these changes is very simple, the safety and security of our students and staff. Finally, if your student is able to ride the bus, PLEASE have them take it. This will certainly cut down on the morning traffic backups. If I can answer any questions for you, please feel free to contact me and don't forget to wave at me in the morning!!
