Forest Park High School – Behind the Wheel Registration Process

IMPORTANT REGISTRATION NOTICE – 2026–2027 SCHOOL YEAR – BEHIND THE WHEEL

ALL SPRING AND SUMMER 2026 BEHIND THE WHEEL SESSIONS ARE FULL.

Students may still complete registration to be placed on a WAITING LIST in case a summer driving seat becomes available. Students who complete registration will also receive PRIORITY PLACEMENT beginning with the AUGUST and SEPTEMBER group driving sessions.

New Behind the Wheel groups will begin in AUGUST 2026.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Seats are assigned on a FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED basis. Early registration is strongly recommended. Group sessions are scheduled for two weeks to complete 7 driving sessions. Early registration is encouraged because wait time increases throughout the school year.

Is Your Child Eligible? 

To sign up, your child must meet the following requirements: 

• Have a valid Virginia Learner’s Permit 
• Completed at least 10 hours of supervised driving practice 
• Be enrolled in HPE II this school year (this includes Driver Education coursework) 
  OR 
  Have completed HPE II, received a DEC-8 card, and met the permit and practice hour requirements. 
  • Students taking VADETS Driver Education Course must have completed the course and received a DEC-8 card to be eligible.  

Step I: Payment

Complete the payment for the course.

Rycor Online Payment (Student Quick Pay) 

Below you will find Rycor Online Payment and Credit Card payment.  You can use these instructions to complete the payment process online.

RYCOR Online System Click HERE

1. Create a student quick pay account (if you do not have one already) and log in at Student Quick Pay
2. Select your student
3. Locate the Driver Ed-Range & Road icon and select it
4. Select the student’s high school
5. After selecting submit, you will see a $240 charge in your cart.
6. Click on the cart and enter your credit card information.
7. A school payment receipt/confirmation will auto-populate.
8. Please screenshot this receipt/confirmation and email Mr. Harkness
9. Print the receipt for your records

Step 2: Complete the Necessary Forms

1. Download and complete the PWCS Permission Form
2. Download and complete the PPF 24 VA State Form
3. Save a copy of these forms for your records.

Step 3: Complete the Online Registration (PWCS Behind the Wheel System)

1. Complete Online Registration (Prince William County School Behind the Wheel System). You will proceed to make a payment to submit the application. Step 4: Email Documents 

1. Please email Mr. Harkness the receipts once the steps are complete. Then I will be able to assign you to a Behind the Wheel Group. Contact Info: [email protected]
