Welcome to the Forest Park High School's information page for our Behind the Wheel program. We hope that the following information will help answer any questions that you may have.

FOREST PARK HIGH SCHOOL – Summer Behind the Wheel Registration 

PLEASE NOTE: 

• There is a two-week processing timeframe for instructors to complete a new DEC-8 card.
• In your email, please include:
  • Your full name
  • The year you completed Driver Education
  • The name of your Driver Education instructor
  • Send an Email to the Behind the Wheel Coordinator, Mr. Harkness - Email: [email protected]

Eligibility Requirements

• *Valid Virginia Learner’s Permit*
• At least *10 hours* of supervised driving practice
• Completed *HPE II or VADETS Driver Education Course*
• Possession of *DEC-8 (Pink Card) * 

Program Overview

• 14 total sessions: *7 driving + 7 observing*
• Each day includes *50 minutes driving and *50 minutes observing
• Range Days scheduled *June 15–19* by Behind the Wheel Coordinator (Mr. Harkness) 
• Students will complete 2 Days in Range 

Summer 2026 Session Options 

•  June 22–26: 8AM (8 seats), 10AM (8 seats), 12PM (8 seats), 2PM (4 seats)
• June 29–July 3: 8AM (2 seats), 10AM (2 seats), 12PM (2 seats)
• July 6–10: 8AM (2 seats), 10AM (2 seats), 12PM (Seats available) 

How to Register (Microsoft Bookings) -

• *Visit the Sign-Up Page (Summer Behind the Wheel Sessions - Signup Page )*
• Select your preferred session time that is available. 
• Book *Monday through Friday for the same week and time*
• Example: Book 8 AM on Monday, June 22nd – Continue to book 8 AM for the remaining days through Friday.
• *If a session time and date is not showing up to book, then the time slot is fully booked and will be unavailable for summer driving. If sessions were booked, proceed to make payment. 

Payment Instructions (Rycor)

*Visit Payment Page (StudentQuickPay.com)*

Rycor Payment Instructions:  

1. Create a student quick pay account (if you do not have one already) and log-in at https://www.studentquickpay.com/pwcs/  

2. Select your student  

3. Locate the Driver Ed-Range & Road icon and select it  

4. Select the student’s high school    

5. After selecting submit, you will see a $240 charge in your cart.      

6. Click on the cart and enter your credit card information.    .

7. A school payment receipt/confirmation will auto-populate    

8. Please screenshot this receipt/confirmation and email Mr. Harkness

9. Print the receipt for your records

Required Forms – Download and Complete 

• PWCS Permission Form (**Fillable PWCS Permission Form**)
• PPF 24 Virginia State Form (**PPF 24 VA State Form**)

Online Registration (Prince William County Schools Behind the Wheel System)

• Go to the Website: PWCS Driver Ed Solutions Website
• You will proceed to make a payment to submit the application. Don't make payment since that will be completed through Rycor.
• Instructions for PWCS Driver Ed Registration
• This system will be used to officially assign the sessions that you booked.

Final Submission

Submit all forms and payment receipt to *Mr. Harkness* in person.

Student/Parent Checklist

• Range days June 15–19 acknowledged
• Booked 5 road sessions for same week/time
• Arrive on time for all sessions that have been assigned
• Valid Virginia Learner's Permit held
• DEC-8 Card in possession
• Rycor payment completed
• PWCS Permission & PPF24 forms completed
• Online Driver Ed Solutions registration complete
• Documents submitted in person or emailed to Mr. Harkness
