Creative Writing and English 11

I have been teaching in this county for 18 years. I started out teaching in Germany, but I put my job on hold for many years to raise my own children and travel the world with my husband, Rob, who was in the US Army for twenty years. I received my BA degree from the University of Georgia in English and Speech Communication Education and my MS degree from Walden University in Instructional Technology. I am also a teacher writing consultant for the National Writing Project. I have three grown daughters. All three graduated from Forest Park. I have two sons-in law and a grandchild. I am also a certified Zumba instructor.

Teaching keeps my young-at-heart. The energy of the students is what keeps me going. I also love teaching English because so much can be learned about life through literature. Reading literature and writing both open us up to discussing life lessons with others and bring us all closer together.

I am proud to teach English 11 and Creative Writing I, II, and III. I also sponsor the literary magazine, Ursa Major, FPHS Coffee House, and Quill and Scroll Journalism Honor Society.

All the Best,

Laura Dowling

My on-line classes reside on Google Classroom.
